“Starting a business with nothing but ‘no’s. No platform. No connections. No team.
All he had was himself – with optimism in his heart and an unshakable will to never give up.”

Mr. Hoang, Chairman of SupremeTech.

I met Mr. Hoang for the first time about a week after I joined the company. And he was exactly as I had imagined from our online interview two months earlier – a big brother figure with a simple, calm, grounded presence. Yet every word he spoke carried the fire of a true pathfinder.

I met Mr. Hoang for the first time about a week after I joined the company. And he was exactly as I had imagined from our online interview two months earlier – a big brother figure with a simple, calm, grounded presence. Yet every word he spoke carried the fire of a true pathfinder.

I still remember that conversation vividly. Not once did he mention targets, plans, or KPIs.
Instead, he began with the story of his return to Vietnam, followed by the early days of building the first foundation stones in the IT and tech landscape of Da Nang back in 2014 – a field still wild and unfamiliar then. And finally, he spoke about where he stands today: SupremeTech, home to 200 talented members.

What stayed with me, as a newcomer sitting across from him, wasn’t numbers or achievements – it was the excitement of being part of the journey ahead. A journey that might be rough, might be challenging, but promised to be deeply meaningful. That excitement – and the quiet reassurance that came with it – was sparked by his honest, humble stories.

Perhaps one day, we’ll sit down to recount every milestone in his 11-year entrepreneurial journey.
But in this special conversation celebrating SupremeTech’s 5th anniversary, as we gathered with long-time members who have been here since day one, what we wanted most was to hear – and to tell – the story of building a company from zero.

And through the lens of Mr. Hoang – the one who opened the path and continues to lead the way – that story becomes even more compelling.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single Step

In 2014, Da Nang was already known as one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Central Vietnam.
But when it came to technology, the city’s name was still far from familiar. Education in IT and Tech had not yet been prioritized, and most talents in the field chose to build their careers in opportunity-rich cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. High-quality IT personnel in Da Nang at that time were so few they could be counted on one hand.

With such challenges, when asked why he chose to return to Vietnam despite having a stable career in Japan, Mr. Hoang shared:

“When I was studying in Japan, the development gap between the two countries was still very large in every aspect. I had the desire to return one day and contribute to making our country stronger. I believed that if the Japanese could do it, then Vietnamese people could do it too. It starts with developing myself to become someone useful to society, creating value for the people around me, and eventually contributing to the progress of the country

But having the desire alone is not enough to turn dreams into reality – especially when you haven’t built enough strength within yourself. My time in Japan exposed me to new perspectives. Discipline, and the mindset of improving a little every day, were all shaped during the years I studied and worked there. You could say that when passion, dedication, and capability are all aligned, the moment to return to Vietnam naturally appeared – allowing me to begin my entrepreneurial journey and achieve the milestones I have today.”

The truth is, every journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
And in this story, that first step was the step back home.

A Remarkable Journey with SupremeTech

It is easy to imagine the difficulties faced by a company founded at the height of the global Covid-19 pandemic. In the early days, SupremeTech had only a few dozen members, many of whom were young people Mr. Hoang had guided in the past. At a time when human connection was most needed to build a new team, everyone suddenly had to work from home for safety.

Yet as people often say, adversity brings out creativity.
Physical distance became the motivation for ideas that brought the team closer together, such as the “Capture WFH Moments” contest and the early blogging activities. Staying true to the mindset of autonomy, growing through action, and embracing challenges, which Mr. Hoang always shares, he said:

“I’ve never felt discouraged because I am always ready to face difficulties. The tougher the situation, the more I want to overcome it and strengthen my inner resilience. I always keep the question ‘Why can others do it?’ as a compass that keeps me moving forward. At first, I had to train myself to handle pressure both mentally and emotionally. Over time, it naturally became part of who I am.” (laughs)

The idea for MiaHire also took shape during this period.
How can a company hire nearly one hundred people each year with limited resources and almost no ability to meet face to face during the pandemic? Once the pain points behind this question were carefully addressed, MiaHire, a video interview platform, was created and welcomed its very first customers.

Later came economic fluctuations, market instability, and the depreciation of the Japanese Yen. Each challenge arrived one after another, helping the SupremeTech team become steadier and more mature.

When asked about the most memorable moment in the past five years, Mr. Hoang did not mention revenue, new projects, new products, new customers, or new markets.
For him, the true legacy of these years lies in the people who have grown within SupremeTech.

“Seeing those who have been with me since day one grow step by step is the moment that moves me the most. Now I no longer need to be present at every event or activity to guide the team. Everyone has become confident. They organize activities on their own, lead with their own passion, and put their heart into everything they do.

My wish is that everyone who comes to work with me can grow little by little. Life is not very long, so I want to live it meaningfully. I want to become the kind of person I admire, and I want SupremeTech to be a place where not only I, but all of you, can live your values, continue to grow, and one day inspire others while contributing to the development of our country and society.”

It is this philosophy of human development that forms the backbone of SupremeTech’s steady progress.
When you walk with people who share the same vision, challenges and hardships become catalysts that strengthen unity and the spirit of the entire team.

Autonomy in Every Step

Since its founding, one of the most notable practices introduced to every new member has been studying and obtaining professional certifications. Everyone is encouraged to strengthen their expertise and explore new knowledge. SupremeTech considers this a strategic investment in the company’s long-term capability.

Beyond technical skills, empowering each member with autonomy has been a major driver of both cultural development and strong business performance. Mr. Hoang explained:

“Autonomy is not only about a company being able to operate and shape its own direction. It is also about each individual knowing how to take responsibility for their work and how to contribute value independently and proactively.”

That is why in 2025, SupremeTech is organizing many internal activities that celebrate the spirit of autonomy: from ST sessions where members can lead discussions and share their thoughts, to various internal events and sports competitions.

A brilliant milestone closing often marks the beginning of an even more exciting chapter. From his position as the torchbearer, Mr. Hoang painted a clear picture of the next five years for SupremeTech:

“If the first five years were when we planted the seeds of culture, people, and inner strength, then in the next five years, I hope to see true autonomy at SupremeTech. Our goal is to stand firmly on our own. Our product lines will grow stronger and achieve greater success, and SupremeTech will continue to mature and flourish, both in operations and in seizing new opportunities.”

Tomorrow Better Than Today, Even One Centimeter Is Enough

Our conversation with Hoang felt like a film rewinding the most memorable moments of the past five years. Everyone had the chance to revisit their own corner of the bigger picture that is SupremeTech. Because time was limited, although we all had much more to share, the team could only promise to meet Hoang again on another occasion. Wanting to hold on a little longer to the lingering emotion of the talk, we asked together:

“Is there anything you’d like to share with the SupremeTech team on this special occasion?”

Hoang replied:
“Enjoy every experience, whether good or bad. Every journey is valuable, even when it is rocky or difficult. As long as we don’t give up, as long as we keep moving and stay positive, we’re already on the right path. Successful people aren’t the luckiest ones — they’re the ones who don’t quit. Those who dare to pursue their passion until the end will reach their destination sooner or later. Always remember to keep learning and improving yourselves every day. Tomorrow being one centimeter better than today is enough.”

The Journey Ahead Is Still Built on Steady Steps

Five years might not be a long time, but it is enough for a seed to grow into a tree with strong roots. SupremeTech has grown — and continues to grow — through resilience, inner strength, and the spirit of being “one centimeter better than yesterday.”
Thank you, Hoang, for a meaningful and inspiring conversation!
